About us

The Aero Luff Spar was developed by long distance cruising enthusiast Ralph Roberts*; Terry Cook*, head of engineering and development at PCE Automation Ltd; and Peter Thomas*, who saw the potential of the spar for the larger cruiser market, particularly the more traditional craft with bowsprits, and used his boat building expertise to develop the spar for the larger boat market.

The original concept of the spar was to provide the convenience and practicality of furling and/or reefing a genoa or foresail, without reducing it’s efficiency when used in its normal, unfurled state.
